Overcoming shyness, increasing self-confidence, and improving social skills.

overcoming shyness, increasing self-confidence, and improving social skills with self-hypnosis.

For overcoming shyness, increasing self-confidence, and improving social skills, self-hypnosis works wonders. No matter which kind of shyness you have, self-hypnosis can help you bring out your strong side, the side that may have been dormant most of your life.

Hello, I'm Dr. Charles Henderson, Ph.D. For many years I have been showing people how to use self-hypnosis. To achieve the kinds of things they want out of life. To be the kind of person they know they can be. Anyone with normal intelligence and a desire to be improve him- or herself can learn how to use self-hypnosis. And shyness is one of the areas of application where self-hypnosis seems to work like magic.

If you suffer from shyness, you are not alone. Almost half of the adult population of the US claims to be shy in one way or another. I personally believe the percentage is much higher. Some people are privately shy—that is, only they know that their sometimes aggressive behavior is really a cover for their shyness. Others are publicly shy—they know it, and so does everyone else.

Regardless of whether yours is the public or private kind of shyness, you owe it to yourself look into what self-hypnosis can do for you. You can do this at my free Hypnotica Web site. You will find a complete program there for your instruction, and like I said it is free.

By the way, please don't get carried away with images of Bella Lugosi-like trance states and people walking around with their arms stretched out in front of them like zombies. The kind of self-hypnosis I teach does not require anything like that. In fact, there is nothing weirder about it than it is when you sit back, close your eyes, and think about something pleasant. If you can do that, you can use self-hypnosis. It really is so easy to do, anyone can do it! And the rewards can be immense!

At the Hypnotica Web site you will find complete instructions on how to prepare your mind for self-hypnosis. All the instructions you need are there, along with a script you can use for your own hypnotic induction. (Of course, some people prefer to use professionally recorded hypnotic inductions, so I tell you about those, too. In fact, I even have one made specifically for overcoming shyness.

The art and science of suggestion formulation and application are also covered on the Hypnotica Web site. Suggestion is what you need to help program your mind to do as you want. For example, to stop acting shy and be more confident and self-assured.

One of the really great things about self-hypnosis is that it changes the way you feel and think. You don't just act more confident, you actually feel more in command and unafraid in social situations.

And don't worry:  self-hypnosis will not turn you into a loud mouthed, back slapping jerk. We certainly don't need any more of those in the world.

Self-hypnosis will help you be more comfortable in the kinds of social situations that now cause you discomfort—it gives you a choice in how you act. So you don't have to be uncontrollably tongue-tied or clumsy.

The purpose of self-hypnotic suggestions is to change your subconscious image of yourself. When your subconscious image changes, your behavior changes too. You do not become another person. You simply change some of your bashful behaviors so you become more assertive. And more comfortable in the kinds of situations that used to leave you immobile and locked in silence. (Like I said, it changes the way you feel and think.)

A lot of people have questions about hypnosis, so I've prepared a file of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the Web site. In addition, I'm sometimes asked whether or not self-hypnosis will help with certain kinds of situations vis-a-vis shyness. The truth is, it is helpful for just about any kind of situation in which you have felt uncomfortable, or in which your performance was impaired because of shyness. Here are some examples:

  • public speaking
  • dating and communicating with attractive people
  • being more assertive with salespeople, tradesmen, etc.
  • meeting new people and making friends
  • being able to say no
  • standing up for yourself in confrontations
  • coming across as cool in tense situations
  • speaking up in class or meetings

As you can see, this approach helps you become more assertive and comfortable representing yourself and your interests. And if you have some buried subconscious issues that need to be dealt with, there is a section on the Web site that shows you how to get information directly from your subconscious mind. Some people think this is really scary. They are afraid they will dredge up something terrible or unpleasant, maybe even things they should not know about themselves. This is not a problem. Once people get into it they discover good things about themselves, as well as things they might want to modify. But nothing terrible.

This method is called Autoquestioning (There is also a separate tape on Autoquestioning). Autoquestioning, I have to say, is absolutely, outrageously magnificent! Wunderbar! I used to use it to cut through weeks, months, even years of therapy in some cases. It is that powerful. And the beauty of it is, you can't hurt yourself with it. You really must find out about this phenomenon. Here is the URL again; just click here to get there:  Autoquestioning.

The last word? If you have any kind of problems with shyness, social reticence, or just plain old being bashful, you really should check out self-hypnosis at the Hypnotica Web site.
